Personal data

SOMT University of Physiotherapy processes the following personal data:

  • name, address, place of residence;
  • phone number, emailaddress;
  • date of birth, sex;
  • bank- and payment details;
  • choice of study, study process and other education-related information;
  • potentially personal experiences, in case of a study advisor consult;
  • login information, such as your SOMT ID.

SOMT University of Physiotherapy only processes data necessary for its purposes. The processing of personal data will take place in the least intrusive manner for those involved. SOMT University of Physiotherapy follows the Code of Conduct for the use of personal data in scientific research.

The Executive Board of SOMT University of Physiotherapy is responsible for the processing of personal data within SOMT.

Special and/or sensitive personal data

SOMT University of Physiotherapy processes the following special and/or sensitive personal data:

  • Citizen Identification Number (BSN)

SOMT University of Physiotherapy only processes special personal data when this is permitted by law.

Purpose

SOMT University of Physiotherapy processes personal data for the following purposes:

a. educational purposes, such as conducting, adjusting, checking and maintaining internal and external educational processes, including the registration and deregistration of students, course participants and alumni, offering education, providing tests, conducting examinations, offering facilities, ensuring fraud prevention and drawing up and implementing education-related policies;

b. research purposes, such as conducting, adjusting, checking and enforcing internal and external (contract) research, including advising, facilitating and conducting the investigation, fraud prevention and drawing up and implementing research-related policy;

c. administrative purposes, such as executing, adjusting, controlling and maintaining processes related to current, prospective or former employment, such as human resource management, financial administration, information technology, fraud prevention and the formulation and implementation of central and decentralized policies;

d. contractual purposes, such as entering into, executing and terminating agreements with clients, contractors, cooperation partners, suppliers or customers;

e. financial purposes, such as calculating and collecting tuition, examination fees and other financial contributions, as well as providing financial and administrative support;

f. well-being purposes, such as providing advice, guidance and support and otherwise contributing to well-being;

g. marketing purposes, such as relationship management, preparing, sending and receiving information and organizing and attending meetings;

h. other purposes, such as complying with (other) legal regulations or binding instructions, historical and statistical purposes and the security of property, persons, sites and buildings.

Principles of processing personal data

The purposes for which these principles will play a role are indicated between brackets:

a. the subject has given consent for the processing for one or more of the above purposes (welfare, marketing and other purposes);

b. the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, or to take pre-contractual measures at the request of the data subject (educational, research, administrative and contractual purposes);

c. the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal task or duty of SOMT University of Physiotherapy (educational, research, administrative and financial purposes);

d. the processing is necessary to perform a public task (education, research and welfare purposes);

e. the processing is necessary for the representation of the legitimate interests of SOMT University of Physiotherapy or of a third party (all purposes).

Automated decision making

SOMT University of Physiotherapy does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that can have (significant) consequences for people. These are decisions taken by computer programs or systems, without involving a person (for example an employee of SOMT University of Physiotherapy).

Retention and destruction

Personal data is not kept for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or used. Personal data must be removed from the reach of the active administration after the retention period has expired. SOMT University of Physiotherapy will destroy the Personal Data after the retention period has expired or, if the Personal Data is intended for historical, statistical or scientific purposes, archive it adequately.

Sharing personal data with third parties

SOMT University of Physiotherapy deelt uw persoonsgegevens met verschillende derden als dit noodzakelijk is voor het uitvoeren van de overeenkomst en om te voldoen aan een eventuele wettelijke verplichting. Met bedrijven die u gegevens verwerken in onze opdracht, sluiten wij een Verwerkersovereenkomst om te zorgen voor eenzelfde niveau van beveiliging en vertrouwelijkheid van uw gegevens. View, modify or delete data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request for withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to fg@somt.nl.

To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity with the request. Please make sure that the MRZ (machine readable zone), passport number and Individual Citizen Number (BSN) is blacked out. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.
